About Vessels Roofing
James Vessels has been in construction all of his life. James was roofing in 1957 and working at Ft. Knox, with the port engineers. James retired from Ft. Knox in 1969, same year his son Kenny graduated from high school. Kenny went to work at Ft. Knox for R.L. Rainey Roofing Co. Kenny worked for Mr. Rainey until August 26, 1970, when he fell through a skylite on the Lucas/Hussey tobacco warehouse. After Kenny’s full recovery in March of '71, Kenny started working with his father in the residential roofing field.
In March of 1974, the pressure of running the business was greater than James wanted to deal with so he sold the business to his son, who at the time was full of ambition. Vessels Roofing has always tried to hold onto the most upright work ethic, in the construction business. All workers at Vessels Roofing have maintained the same working principles, that have been taught to them. The Managers, have always taught, do the work right, your speed will come.
Kenny’s brother Randy started carrying shingles to the other shingle layers, when he was 10 years old. After Randy graduated from high school and working at many other businesses, in November of 2008, he came back to his roots in the Vessels Roofing Co.
Vessels Roofing has always been proud of the quality of workmanship that it produces. Word of mouth is the best advertisement going, that’s why Vessels Roofing strives for perfection, bad news travels fast.
